My 10 favourite foods.

I am linking up with Emma at outnumbered as part of the #BEDAoutnumbered challenge.

Day 19: Whats your 10 favourite foods.

Well this list is probably going to read like a list of food you can’t eat while pregnant or breastfeeding.
I am a massive lover of food but at moment as I am breastfeeding Baby still I can’t eat most of it 😦
It’s a good job I’m on a coach on way to seaside today otherwise I would probably be rather sad by end of this due to fact I can’t eat half of it.

1. Shellfish
I love nearly all shellfish. Prawns, crab, cockles and mussels. (I haven’t tried lobster YET! But I bet it is yummy)
I love them in seafood cocktails or in a tray in vinegar/pickled (I know classy)

2. Calamari
I love squid specially with a lovely tomato based salsa or sauce. This is my serious idea of comfort food. I always feel happy eating it 🙂
When ever my hubby would take me to frankie and benny’s I would order their calamari cause it was my favorite.

3. Crunchy nut cornflakes
I love a good bowl of cereal on a morning or on a evening for supper. But crunchy nut cornflakes are just a must.
I alway giggly at there advert when it comes on because that is me. I would be the one holding the bowl as the dinosaurs got us saying “there just so nutty” 😀

4. Steak
I blame my love of rare/blue steaks on my parents due to the many trips to America as a child. Most people think I am weird because I only love it because of the blood. I think it’s lush and I like dipping I’m chips in the meat juices that is left on plate or mix in my mash potatoes.
Nothing beats a nice juicy piece of steak specially when it’s accompanied with a large glass of red wine 🙂

5. Salad
I love salad in summer we have it with nearly every evening meal. I don’t just do a simple salad I like to add olives, peri peri peppers, boiled eggs, raw broccoli, or even salt and pepper. It all depends on how I feel and what I fancy that day.

6. Salmon
I prefer it when it pan fried or baked the fillets because I love the skin to be all crispy but if I’m having a healthy meal then I will steam it.
If it’s the thin sliced smoked salmon I like to fry it and add it to my scrambled eggs with onions, mushrooms and pepper. It’s really yummy and was my favourite thing to egg while I was pregnant with E.

7. Soft boiled eggs with soldiers
I love dipping my bread in the runny yoke it reminds me of childhood and always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside 🙂

8. Roast dinners
You can’t beat a Sunday or any day roast dinner with all the trimmings. (although I am one of the very few Yorkshire people who doesn’t like Yorkshire puds)
Again it reminds me of childhood and of family dinners. Now I’m the mother I try my best to have family dinners with my kids because I want the to have similar memories to what I had growing up.

9. Chocolate fudge cake
I think this is a given to most people and doesn’t need and explanation.

10. Bread
Freshly baked bread. When it’s still soft and warm in middle. Hmmmmmm my idea of heaven

As you can see half of my list is a no go when your pregnant or breastfeeding and most of the other stuff is bad for you or fattening in large amounts (minus the salad).

What’s your list of your favourite foods?

I’ll be checking all your list tonight or tomorrow depending what time where back from seeing the sea 🙂

What I collect

I am linking up with Emma at outnumbered as part of the #BEDAoutnumbered challenge.

Day 18: What do you collect?

I use to collect things when I was younger. I use to collect stickers, picture and Teddy’s. But as I got older I just lost interest in it.
I still read one of the comics I collected as a teen which is Nemi.

They always made me laugh and smile. I now have the app so I reach and saved the ones I like/love.

Other then that I only ever seem to collect children. Randomly I will have the kids friends in my garden or house. I don’t mind unless they end up arguing amongst themselves and if that happens I just politely warn them all to stop but if it continues I will send their friends home.
If you count my 3 (Baby still too young to play in garden) or 4 if my step daughter is here plus their friends off street and from school it slowly turns into a lot of kids.

So there you go that what I collect even if sometime I don’t mean to collect them.

What do you collect?

A timeline of my day!

I am linking up with Emma at outnumbered as part of the #BEDAoutnumbered challenge.

Day 17: Timeline of your day. (In photos, words or both)

My day started at 8am (sorry no picture I’ll save you the nightmares of me when I just woken up with bed hair)
The kids were all excited as we had a fun day planned and T was excited cause it was his day with his dad.
So after breakfast T left with his dad and we got ready to set off. We left at 10.55am and arrived at bus station for 11.15am.

We set off and arranged to meet a friend in the bus station. After what seemed like forever (nearly an hour on the bus) we arrived in Leeds and then it was a short walk before we were at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds at 12.40pm.

The kids were super excited. Even more so when P saw the Ironman statue.

We were given a little booklet that told us when all the demonstrations were on. I noticed that there was one due to start at 1pm, so we went upstarts to go watch before we had lunch.

IMG_3064.JPGThe kids enjoyed watching the sword fighting (even though they were hungry and wanted lunch, so we gave them some raisins to snack on). Then we went for lunch in the picnic area. Once we finished we went on to look round the museum

IMG_3066.JPGand have some fun 😀

IMG_3069.JPG By which point it had gone 4pm and we were all completely shattered.

So it was time to go home.

We got a bus to Bradford interchange and then waited for our bus home.

By which point it had reached 6pm and we where all tired, hungry and the adults needed coffee.

IMG_3070.JPG So I chilled and started my blog challenge for the day, while my hubby started tea. After my break and caffeine injection. I went on to finish tea and pour myself a glass of much needed wine.

IMG_3065.JPG (Tea was yummy by the way!)
We finished eating at 7pm and bedtime rolled around. So once the little one were in bed the hubby and I enjoyed a cuddle and a chill watching TV.

Which leads me to this point.

What did you do today? And was it fun?

When I win the lottery!

I am linking up with Emma at outnumbered as part of the #BEDAoutnumbered challenge.

Day 16: If you won the lottery

see I don’t say “if I won the lottery” I say “When I win the lottery!”
I know one day I am going to win the lottery (even though I don’t really out it on). I don’t know when or how or even how much but it’s a feeling I have deep in my bones that one day I will win.

Now the question is what am I going to do with the money “when” I win.
So here is my list of what I’m going to do:

1. Buy a house or put a deposit down for a house.
I wouldn’t want a mansion just a nice big 5/6 bedroom house, so the older kids could have a bedroom of their own. I would want a living room, dining room, play room, a huge kitchen with a dishwasher and a converted attic or conservatory. So hubby could have the “man cave” he always dreamed of.
I would want a big garden with a climbing frame/swing set and Wendy houses for kids. In a nice area in the suburbs or near the country or woods, so we could go explore.

2. I would book my holidays.
All the places I want to visit in my top 5 destinations would be crossed off and I would finally have the honeymoon the hubby and I couldn’t afford.

3. I would finish learning to drive and so would my hubby.

4. I would buy a car or two.
I would get a lovely big 7 seater for when I needed to go out with the kids but I would love to have a car that was just mine. (if we could afford it)

5. I would hire I cleaner.
I wouldn’t have a cleaner for the small stuff or the general cleaning as I enjoy doing that myself. It’s the big getting in all the nucks and crannies spring cleaning that I hate having to do and with 4 kids I have to do it a lot. So once a week I would have a lady come in and deep clean my new house.

6. I would put my children in private school.
I want my kids to have the best education but being a non driver. We could only get the best education that was available to us. I am not saying the boys school is a bad one (I went to same school as a child) but I want my kids to be the best that they can be and have every opportunity available to them. Private school can give them that.

7. I would open trust funds for my kids and invest money where I could.
That way my kids would have money when their older plus with the right investments our money will grow.

When were my hubby or I have talked about “what if”, one thing I have always said is that I wouldn’t allow him to give up his job (would be happy him working part time). This is because money doesn’t last forever and goes down really quickly but most importantly I would probably go insane having him home constantly!

What would you do if you won the lottery?

My top 5 destinations.

I am linking up with Emma at outnumbered as part of the #BEDAoutnumbered challenge.

Day 15: What destinations are top of your list?

I have so many places I want to go to and so many places I have already been in my life. That if I listed every single one off I would be here all day, still listing them off. So I chose to give you my Top 5.
Some of the places on my list I have already been to but would love to go again as an adult.

1. Hawaii
I have alway dreamed of laying on the beach in Hawaii, learning to surf and embracing the amazing island culture.
The place looks like paradise and I would love to go one day and explore with my hubby.
Hopefully one day we will go but it will probably be when my kids are grown.

2. Greece
I really want to go to Greece again to explore, see the sights and take in another culture and history.
It is some where I plan to take my kids but it will have to wait until Baby is a bit older as the heat in summer isn’t great with babies.

3. Paris/Disneyland
I have been to France before when I went with school on France exchange. We had a day trip to Paris and I got to see all the amazing sights and the beauty of such an amazing place.
I would love to again with my hubby and I would love to go to Disneyland (I have never been to the one in Paris) with my kids. I keep planning it but then I don’t have money or I would fall pregnant.
We plan to go in next few years because I want all the kids to be old enough to enjoy it.

4. Italy
I want to go to both Rome and Venice. I have been to Venice when I was younger with my parents but I don’t remember it. I would love to go and to learn about the history, to see the ruins and go to the many museums they have in Italy. I also want to go down the Grand Canal and take a water taxi, to stay in a hotel that has stood the test of time.

5. New York
I have already been here but I want to go with my hubby one day as a belated honeymoon. Maybe when we finally have money and someone who can watch the kids we will do a trip to both New York and Hawaii. One day!

So there you go my top 5 destinations of where I would love to go. I also want to go to Canada, Mexico, Austria and Many many more places.

My guilty pleasures

I am linking up with Emma at outnumbered as part of the #BEDAoutnumbered challenge.

Day 12: A Guilty Pleasure

Today’s prompt is about guilty pleasures and I have quite a few. Being a mother most young kids most treats are guilty pleasures because I gave to hide away or keep them secret out of fear that my little lovely a will be jealous or worse. Want me to share!
But here us my list of my guilty pleasures:

1. A bottle of wine after a hard day. Normally this will be in my “hard day” glass. Which is a a huge wing glass that holds a full bottle (it only ever been fully filled once just so I could test the theory. It does!)

2. I steal/sneak the children’s Easter, Halloween or Christmas chocolate and sweets, when their in bed asleep and hope they forget how much they have.

3. I love these peri peri olives with garlic I buy for myself to nibble on or have with salads. I try my best to hide them though so kids don’t find them because P and E always want me to share.

4. Ben and Jerry’s caramel chew chew. When ever it’s on offer I treat myself to a tub and hide it in back of freezer (normally under the frozen peas or sweet corn) for me to enjoy when kids are in bed.

5. Stopping for a sneaky coffee and piece of cake in Café Nero, when ever I am kid free or it’s just me and baby or me and E.

6. Haribo! I will treat myself to it but hide it away from the kids so I don’t have to share.

7. I like to play with kids new toys before they do. On Christmas Eve or night before their birthdays we will put their toys together but the hubby and I have to have a play. Now they boys are getting older they want more high tech toys which is fun.

8. True movies. My hubby and kids hate them. So when ever I get chance I will curl up on my sofa and watch true movies.

So there you go my guilty pleasure. Nothing too bad and mainly revolve around food and sweets. But I’m a mother sweets will always be a guilty pleasure.
See you tomorrow

My 5 favourite films

I am linking up with Emma at outnumbered as part of the #BEDAoutnumbered challenge.

Day 11: Your 5 Favourite films

See this list was easy for me to come up with as I was just tell my hubby the other week what my favourite films where and last night I thought I would have this post over and done with first thing this morning. But my day didn’t turn out as planned and I am just getting chance to do it now.
My films are mostly made up of Disney films or love/feel good films but any way here we go.

1. The Little Mermaid

I love this film always have always will. It’s the film my wifey and I watch together regularly when we lived together. It’s my feel hood movie. If I’m having a bad day or I’m tired or unwell. I put it in DVD player and I always feel better by end.
Plus I still giggle like a school girl and the line “darling it’s better, down where it’s wetter. Take it from me!” 😀 I know immature but I can’t help it.

2. Crazy/Beautiful

I love Love LOVE Kirsten Dunst as an actress. Even in her earlier true movies. But this film has to be on my favourite list. It ignited my passion for photography and blogging/diary keeping. Just to having a place that was all mine meant a lot to me as a teen.

3. Ever After : A Cinderella Story

I hadn’t watched this film in ages but when it popped up on my demand box the other day I watched it and fell in love all over again. I love the clothes, the story and the fact that Di Vinci plays a roll in the story. It makes me laugh, cry and happy all at same time.

4. Hocus Pocus

I watch thus film every Halloween with or without my kids. It’s a tradition that I love and I have done since I was a child myself. I love the “I put a spell on you!” Song and I sing it for days after.

5. Armageddon

I think anyone who has watched this film will kind why I love it. Just because it is a great film and always makes me cry. The soundtrack is brilliant too.

So there you go my 5 favourite films. I can’t wait to read yours and see what you think of mine.
See you tomorrow.
