50 Things that Make me Happy!

When I first realised that I was tagged by the lovely Pennies Add Up I was completely thrilled. But when I thought about and I  wondered could I think of 50 different things that make me happy?

So I put my mind to work and tried to come up with as many things as I could.

 So here we go:

  1. My family – My hubby and my kids. They completely drive me around the bend most of the time but I know deep down that with them in my life I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now!
  2. Sunshine – I love sitting in the sun and I adore watching the sun rise and set.
  3. This smile – I can’t look at her smile without feeling all warm and fuzzy.
  4. Wine – a nice big glass of red wine to relax with when the kids are in bed.
  5. The Disney film The Little Mermaid – I put this film on when ever I am ill or I’m feeling pants because it’s one of my favourite and I love it.
  6. My best friends Maggi and Kate – I call them my wives because I love them to pieces and they always make be feel better or talk sense into me when I’m feeling down!
  7. Listening to rain tapping on the window, car roof or when you in a tent.
  8. My kids telling me they love me
  9. Flowers
  10. I love relaxing in a bubble bath, so bubble baths make me happy

  12. Going swimming
  13. Chocolate – but that speaks for itself
  14. Dancing – nothing makes me happier then blaring out music and dancing around like a crazy person. I even have a Happy Dance.
  15. Trying new things – figuring out and knowing I can do something new really makes me happy.
  16. Come Dine With Me – it’s one if my favourite TV shows and I love wTching it even if it does make me hungry.
  17. My house when it’s freshly decorated, decluttered and clean.
  18. Cuddles
  19. The song Happy by Pharrell Williams
  20. My pyjamas – I love nothing more then buying myself a new set and I could live in them all day, every day. If it was possible.
  21. My mum and dad – my mum drives me round the bend and some days I want to scream at her because she isn’t listening or still treats me like a child but she can be lovely, helpful and there if I need her.
  22. Shopping – going in a shopping spree and spending money in a new pair of shoes or and outfit for myself. Even when I go shopping for the kids I love it because I can plan it all out and normally I try to go when I’m “kid free!” That makes it a real treat.
  23. Date night – my home and I try to have a date night steady once a month because we need time for us as well as time as a family.
  24. Clouds – nothing better then lay on the grass on a warm summers day making shapes out of the clouds.
  25. Kisses – whether it’s a smooch off my kids or a sneaky snog off my hubby kisses always leave me smiling.
  26. Presents – come on who doesn’t like been given a gift.

  30. Halloween – I always try to go all out at Halloween. I decorate my garden, my house and sometimes myself.
  31. Reading a story to my kids at bedtime and me seeing them read for themselves.
  32. My bed – I love curling up in bed even though I find it hard to fall asleep sometimes.
  33. Being pregnant – although there were moments I completely loathed being pregnant, through out each and everyone pregnancy I alway had a feeling of contentment and happiness.

  35. Bubbles – I love watching and blowing bubbles in garden with the kids.
  36. Hearing my kids say “I love you, mum!”.

  46. Watching my kids sleep – it’s just so peaceful.
  47. Seeing my kids learn something new.
  48. Climbing into freshly changed bedding.
  49. Sitting my candle light in winter.
  50. Being told “I’m the worlds best mum” or “the best mum ever”

I want to say a massive thank you for tagging me and even though my post is little bit late. It’s only because it’s take me so long to thing about what to  put and what makes me happy.

How to have a fun Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is a holiday that as a child I quickly over looked. But now I’m a mum and my children are growing up, Easter is slowly starting to become one of my favourite of the holidays.

I love the fact that it marks the start of spring, I love the fact the damp an miserable wintery showers are replaced with brighter, sunnier days and of course I love the fact that we can indulge in loads of chocolate.

Every Easter we have a certain lot of traditions that we follow. We always do some sort of baking, we wear silly Easter mask and of course we have a Easter Egg hunt, this year was no different. That is why I thought I would share my tips on how to have a fun Easter egg hunt.

    • Firstly buy loads of different size eggs  That way you can make if fun for older and younger children. I tell my children they have to hunt down 2 big eggs each and the little ones are for whoever find them first.

    • Stick clues or arrows directing the kids to the treats   It makes the hunt more fun and gives the children clear instructions, which means the hunt doesn’t turn in to excited, chocolate fuel anarchy. (Have you ever seen a suger infused toddler with a chocolate crazier glint in their eye, it terrifying!)

    • Give everyone a fair chance    I do this but letting they younger ones have a few minutes hunting eggs down before the older kids. This is because the toddlers are normally so excited/amazed by the shiny, bright foil cover eggs that they are either too caught up in their first found egg they forget the rest or they want to unwrap it straight away and eat it that they don’t see the other eggs. Also it prevents the older kids running round and hogging all the eggs leaving it the younger one at a unfair advantage. You could also change this by having you help the younger ones find the eggs while the older ones have fun.

    • Have fun!       Remind the children it’s all meant to be fun and that there isn’t a loser or a winner it the taking part and havingf fun that counts.

Do you have a egg hunt or any Easter traditions in your family?

    Happy Easter everyone! 🐰🍫🐣

Play at Brewers Fayre at the Old Brickworks

I can not begin to explain how excited I was when I received and email offering me and my family a VIP invite to the Play at Brewers Fayre event at The Old Brickworks pub and restaurant in Drighlington, for the launch of their new Beano themed indoor play area.

The family at The Old Brickworks, Brewers Fayre.

The family at The Old Brickworks, Brewers Fayre.

What made it even better was the fact that it was the day before mine and the Hubby’s wedding anniversary. so it meant that we could all go out for a family meal while the kids had loads of fun in the new play area.
When we arrived Dennis was stood outside waiting to meet people and take photo. The kids were thrilled and even Baby was intrigued to see who this person knew person was, instead of crying like her brothers and sister did as babies.

The kids were blown away by the new play area and couldn’t wait to play and were itching to go explore all the new equipment. We had never been to the Brewers Fayre before so the whole experience was new to us. It was one I was excited to be taking part in.

The new area had all been designed with children in mind. There is a Toddler zone which is prefect for the little menace’s to have fun, a Treetop play house for the older one’s (height restrictions apply) and they even have a party room that has been named ‘The Den’. Which means that you can actually book the space out for your child’s birthday party. The play area is open every day from 9.30am – 8pm and its only cost £3 for 90 minutes of play. Plus you get to meet Dennis and Gnasher in person.

As you can see the kids loved it. The day was made extra special because there was an amazing lady that who was doing some beautiful face painting. Of course P and E were straight over to get their faces done. P wanted a dinosaur, where as E went for Frozen.

Once the kids had their fun, we decided that it was time to eat and went in the main restaurant to get our meal. I had order a chicken and bacon salad, whereas the hubby had chosen the Brewers Fayre burger. We both really enjoyed our meals and were extremely pleased. The kids ordered off the children’s menu, with P and E having The Big Bad Dog, while T and Baby had pasta meal such as Macaroni cheese and Spaghetti Beano-ese.
I only really managed to get a few picture of the food because everyone wolfed it down it was that tasty.

The Hubby mentioned that he really loved the little extra added touch they added to the meal, such as the wrapper for the burger or how the hot dogs came in a little basket.
I was really impressed with the prices that you could get the meals. You could order off the children’s menu for £3.99 each and there is a Brewers Fayre Day Time Value offer where you can choose 2 adult main meals from a choice of 12 for just £10. Plus you can order 2 desserts for £2.(This is on weekdays only)

Brewers Fayre doesn’t just have an indoor play area though they also have an outdoor play area. For those lovely summer days when you want to let your kids run free and play while you enjoy a cheeky pint or glass of wine.

It is safe to say that we had a really great time (I think the amount of photos I took shows that) and the Hubby was already arranging our next visit before we had even left. He has loads of ideas about use having the kids parties there too. I guess we will have to see what happens, but I know I would be more than happy go to Brewers Fayre for lunch again.

    I would really recommend!

Disclaimer… I was not paid for this review, however we were given a complimentary meal in exchange for my honest opinion.

    #Project365 – Week 10

This week has been a fun and busy week. The best thing about it is that I have been snapping loads of photo the worst thing is hard it is picking my favourite out of the many pictures, but I have given it ago.

So here is my week 10 in pictures.

    Day 59

This was a #WIDN tagged photo that I snapped of Baby waving out the window to her invisible adoring fans. She has really perfected here waves and even has a few different styles. She has her Happy wave, her Bye Bye wave, her I’m Shy wave and she is now working on her royal wave. It is completely heart melting to watch how adorable she looks.

    Day 60

On Monday I got into spring cleaning mode. I decided that while baby napped and E was happy watching TV, I would wash the windows and wipe all the muck finger prints off my walls. E thought that cleaning was more fun then her TV and wanted to give me a hand. So together we did the spring cleaning of the house.

    Day 61

Asleeping baby who was completely tuckard out after a busy morning playing at the Down’s syndrome early intervention group that we attend every 2 weeks.

    Day 62

I love the sisterly love between these too makes me burst with pride. That is until 2 minutes later when Baby is eating E’s face and pulling her hair, while E screams and pushes her away.

    Day 63

It was world book day and the kids all dressed up. P was the only one actually from a book but no one at the school argued and the kids all enjoyed themselves.

    Day 64

After the Morning school run we stopped off for a quick coffee and some cake before we did the weekly shop. This was the only day that I didn’t manage to get many pictures but I still managed to snap a few.

    Day 65

The boys had great fun at the Beano Grand Opening event that we were invited too at Brewers Fayre, Old Brickworks. We got a few snaps off the inside but the boys also wanted to explore the outside play area too. I must say we had a great time and they were all worn out from the excitment of the day.

So there is our week and all the fun we had.

Word of the Week – Excitment

    Hello

As most of you can see my word for this week if rather self explaitory. I am excited, thrilled, elated, but not many people will actually know why.

You see for me this week has been a real rollercoaster. It’s had its ups, it’s downs, it’s turns and it’s loop de loops. It has been a crazy week and not all of it has been good! But I’m not going to get into any of that because this week has also been the run up to something else for me and my family.

This week, it is our second wedding anniversary. Hubby and I have been married 2 years on Sunday! I have been so excited that I have been counting down the days in my head just waiting for the weekend to come, because I knew the hubby had booked a long weekend off work and we could all be together has a family. I couldn’t wait!

On our actual anniversary day, itself we don’t really have anything special planned for us to celebrate. P has a friends birthday party to go to and the family has been invited to another party for a family friend. It’s great because the second party is really close by to where P’s friends party is and it starts a little bit later, meaning P can go to both.

So even though we won’t be on a nice romantic meal in a restaurant or doing anything for us through day, It won’t matter because we will be together.

Plus that night the hubby and I have a “date night”

Style meal planned for just us, once the kids are all in bed.

What more could I ask for really.

There are also a few other plans for the beginning of the weekend but you will have to keep and eye out for future blog post to find them out or add me on some of my social media channels.

    How has your week been?
